No need to miss Girl Scout Cookie season after it’s over, when you can whip up a batch of these Homemade Thin Mints yourself! They are minty, crunchy, and only have three ingredients. They taste just like the real thing!
Guys, my Thin Mint addiction is ridiculous and now that I know how to make these Homemade Thin Mints, it’s at scary levels. I can pound more of these than I should probably admit and I love not having to wait to do it during a specific season!
Last year, Zach came home and told me very seriously, “I have a confession.” Me, being the worrier that I am, was expecting the worst. He proceeded to tell me, “My coworker’s niece is selling Girl Scout cookies and I may or may not have bought four boxes…” as he balled his hand into a fist and bit on it. Umm, hello? Do you not know me? That doesn’t make me mad, that makes me thrilled! My favorite Girl Scout Cookies are usually the Samoas, but I’ve taken a serious liking to Thin Mints in the last couple years. Which is why I’m so excited about this Homemade Thin Mints recipe!
One of our favorite things to do is to make up a steamy batch of hot cocoa to go alongside these Homemade Thin Mints, but it doesn’t end there. We bite off two small pieces on opposite sides of the cookie, place one side in the hot chocolate and then suck up the hot chocolate through the other side. It’s basically just a Thin Mint straw. It gets the cookie all crumbly and warm, so you can put it in your mouth and it becomes chocolate, mint, melty goodness. We seriously love it! Also, try freezing them beforehand. It makes them even better!

Oh my gosh!! This is so easy (although I know my chocolate coating won’t look as good as yours haha!). Pinning this right now!
Great idea to use the Oreo cookie! I used Ritz crackers when I made them and they were also awesome. I love the combination of mint & chocolate :). Sharing!
OMG this is absolutely genius! 🙂
Mmm I have heard of making them with oreos, and that seems like an easy way to make thin mints at home! Yum! I too am addicted to girl scout cookies, so I can’t wait to try these! I made homemade samoas last year — soo good!
