I was trying to come up with a good title for this cheeseball and I couldn’t think of anything other than ‘the best cheeseball ever’. Not because I like being cliche and generic and lame, but because it truly is the best. cheeseball. ever. Our neighbor, Nyra, would bring this to our family every year for Christmas and we looked forward to it more than almost any other Christmas treat out there. {I say almost only because my mom has a secret slush recipe that was my favorite thing for Christmas Eve dinner. If you’re lucky, I’ll share it with you. ;)} In fact I called my sister and told her that I got the recipe for this cheeseball and she laughed and asked if I remembered how much all of us siblings used to fight over who was eating too much or who didn’t get their share. It was a bit ridiculous. But that just goes to show how great it is!
This is a savory cheeseball which may seem weird considering it has pineapple in it. But do not fear! You can’t taste it at all! I was surprised too. Just try this recipe and thank me later. {This recipe makes one huge cheeseball or two normal sized ones.}
Ingredients:
- 2 {8 oz.} blocks of cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 {15.25 oz.} can crushed pineapple, drained
- 2 tsp. Lawry’s seasoned salt
- 3 green onions, chopped {or more depending on your taste}
- Chopped pecans or walnut for coating
Directions:
- Whip cream cheese until light and fluffy.
- Add the pineapple, seasoned salt, and green onions until well mixed.
- Form mixture into a ball. {I found this was a lot easier after I had refrigerated it for an hour or so.}
- Roll the ball in the nuts.
- Serve with crackers.
Our favorite crackers to go with this are the Cracked Pepper Triscuits. Holy toledo, they are divine! Anyway, I hope you like it!

This is a really yummy recipe!!
Any suggestions as to what I can substitute Lawry’s seasoned salt?
YES this cheeseball is the best I’ve ever had….I have been making it for years….I’ve heard different names for it….pineapple cheeseball…Pecan cheeseball……to me it’s the only cheeseball…..tastes the best with pumpernickel bread…yum yum
It’s SO good, huh?? It’s ruined me for all other cheeseballs! Haha I’ll have to try it with the pumpernickel. Thanks for the recommendation! XO
