Every time we go camping, I make sure to plan out a list of what we're going to eat/make. Hot dogs? Tin foil dinners? Smores? {Emphasis on the smores.} One time we even took these cinnamon roll pancakes. Mmm, they were delish! My favorite snack/food/dessert that we make sure to pack every time though, would have to be this trail mix:
Ingredients:
- 2 bags regular Chex Mix
- 1 bag Bugles
- 1 bag Chocolate Chip Teddy Grahams {I couldn't find these, so I used Mini Chips Ahoy}
- 1 bag Pretzel M&M's
- 1 bag Licorice Bits
- I bag Swedish Fish
- 1 bag Goldfish crackers
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
- Try not to eat yourself sick. {Trust me - once you start, it's impossible to stop.}
I know this recipe isn't anything fancy, but I seriously love it. I hope you enjoy it as well and maybe it can become a fam. fav. for you too!

Looks good! I wouldn't think to mix that combo of snacks, but I'll have to try it for our Lake Tahoe camping trip next week!
ReplyDeleteLots of interesting flavors mixed together in this. Sounds kind of yummy. I may have to try it. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteThat looks yummy - and has a lot of my favorite things in it. ;) Congrats on being featured on Feed Me Friday - it's nice to 'meet' you. I'm now your newest follower! :)

Oh I need this in my life like now! Definitely one my favorite party mixes.
ReplyDeleteHaha me too! I'll be sure to save some for when you come visit. I looked at a calendar today and do you realize that's in like a week and a half?? I'm SO excited!
DeleteI will be making this for Chase to take out the field (and for me roughing it at home... :D)! He needs a healthy treat...ok so maybe it isn't the most healthy trail mix, but I don't think he will complain :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea Lauren! I'm going to send our leftovers with Zachary when he goes on alert. I think the guys would like it AND it gets it outta the house so I don't eat all of it myself. ;)
DeleteHoly cow....that sounds like one hell of a trail mix!! thanks so much for sharing!!

ReplyDeleteYUM! I could go for some right now!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe! I love snacks like this! I'm going to pin it to my YUM board :) And oh yes, I've been to Bear Lake and absolutely love that area. I had two dogs I would take camping in my 5th wheel, yes I know some don't consider that REALLY camping, but I'm old! Sadly, one of my dogs passed about a year ago, but both loved the outdoors and were actually on their best behavior when they were in the "wilderness". Maybe like us, its because the fresh air and exercise tired them out.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good. I love the licorice and the swedish fish in there!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great recipe. I am definitely making this one for the family.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fun and tasty trail mix!! Have fun camping!
