Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 lg. onion diced
  • 1 & 1/4 cups ketchup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. ground allspice
  • 8 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a large frying pan, cook the beef and onion together over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Drain the fat.

  2. Stir in the ketchup, water, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard, chili powder, and allspice and bring to a boil.

  3. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for about 5 minutes or until thickened and heated through.

  4. Spoon 1/2 cup meat mixture onto each bun.
